Maryland ECE COVID-19 Focus Group

As schools begin to reopen and families’ child care and work arrangements shift, family–school partnerships and children's social and emotional needs are more critical than ever. The Maryland State Department of Education Division of Early Childhood (DEC) would like to support programs and schools during this time of transition by developing customized tools and resources that will help educators meaningfully engage families and support children’s social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.

To do this, we would like to hear from educators in the ECE and K-2 space, families, and those who support these caregivers (e.g., directors, principals, early childhood mental health consultants). The DEC will conduct a series of focus groups to better understand the concerns and challenges that schools, staff, and families are facing. If you are interested in attending one of these virtual focus groups, please register for any of the dates and times below:

April 26: 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 6:00 p.m.

May 4th: 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 6:00 p.m.
