Assistant Teachers in State-Funded Preschool Programs
Assistant teachers are an integral component of the preschool classroom. However, there is limited research on the impact of assistant teacher qualifications and training on child outcomes. In a newly released policy brief, experts from the National Institute for Early Education Research and the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment explore what is known about assistant teachers in state-funded preschool programs. They also share strategies that states have implemented to support assistant teachers in meeting qualifications.
